Grotscon LinkA few of us went last year, was smallish for 40k but they have a new organizer and are looking to increase their size. If more than 16 people enter than it will be a 2 day tourney, if less, than it will be 2 - 1 day events. Still waiting on particulars which I will post here ASAP. If people are interested than deffinately sign up and get organized as more people travelling and sharing accommodation makes things a lot cheaper for everyone. 1850 pts ITC rules.

Here is a copy from the FB post Hey everyone! Grotscon is a table top wargame event in Red Deer. They are having their event on April 1st till 3rd and I'm (Iain McLeod) going to be assisting them in putting together and running their ITC ranked Warhammer 40,000 event. The points value will be set at 1850. Please be clear on what changes the ITC has done to specific rules and format. They are just below: Frontline gaming: www.frontlinegaming.org/ITC Format: www.frontlinegaming.org/…/itc-2015-season-40k-tour…/ITC FAQ: docs.google.com/…/16nmBS2KZglu9JaGttpX_9lOYhYO…/editWe will be using all ITC amendments up to and including March 26 rulings. There will be no "30 day rule" in effect. All Games Workshop content released up to and including March 26th will be eligible for play. There will be no painting requirement. We will not be sending lists in to be checked, as I will be playing in this event. Missions will be randomized and announced on the morning of the event. The Grots team will be setting all the match ups independently by strength of schedule. The cost for the event is: $35 for a single day pass $55 for a 2 day pass $65 for a 3 day pass It is planned to be a 6 game, 2 day event if there are at least 16 people signed up for the 6 game event. If there are less than 16 people on the first day, it will be a 3 game punch out on both Saturday and Sunday ran as separate events each day. Saturday and Sunday Schedule Registration from 9:00 - 9:30 Game 1: 9:30 - 12:00 Game 2 12:45 - 3:15 Game 3: 3:30 - 6:00 grotscon.webs.com/

Good afternoon everyone.
With the resulting mass amount of interest in the event, I will be changing the event format slightly.
Expect a tournament of tournaments, planned and organized by a tournament player, with your thoughts and wants in mind.
This original information was built with the thought that I may be playing in the event. As I will no longer be playing, I will be fully organizing the event.
I will be releasing a full players pack to replace this write up, and will be out within the week.
Thank you all for the interest so far.
-Iain McLeod Slayer of Sean, only in the most bullshit formats possible. There can be only one!

Jesus, if your not going to be there to ruin my run to the top, it really doesn't feel like a real event.

Just a note here, if anyone is even lightly interested, deffinatley take the opportunity to sign up. This will be a great event, run by above average people, and should be a ton of fun.
Iain Fergy Ferg Ferguson is getting info together for a car pool and hotel stay for cheapening of the costs, so contact him on that. Since Calgary is becoming largely dry for any decent 40k events, and Edmonton is a stretch for us, this can easily become a premiere event for a lot of players. Great opportunity to meet new people, play new games and maybe prize out.

50% sold out guys.
Rent a helicopter.
Tell the pilot to fly in the direction of Red Deer.
THEN GET TO DA CHOPPA!
If you mean by above average people, you mean one of the Top ranked ITC players in North America for both his faction and in the overall standings and was the top seated person when the Alberta Wargaming Tournament Circuit was in place (He almost tripled the score of the 2nd placed person in the circuit)...
Then yes, it is being run by an above average person! And you won't need to play against him either!

So glad that a bunch of guys are in bound.
Make sure you read up on the ITC missions and FAQ, everything is straightforwward enough but some tngs might catch a guy off gaurd. If anything start playng with the missions and gettting used to the new primary/secondary/tertiary scoring style.
