In two months, on November 8, 2015, I'm holding the Foxhole Memorial Flames of War Friendly Open Round Robin at Showcase Comics, in memory of my brother, and in memory of all fallen soldiers in any war, given the proximity to Remembrance Day.
Points Limit is 1750 points, using the Third Edition Flames of War Rules.
Army Lists may be taken from any Late War Europe list. Please have the rules and the book with your army list on hand. Help with building army lists can be found at this site: fowlists.blogspot.com.au/p/welcome.html
It will be a three-round round robin, with a time limit of two hours per round. The missions you fight will be straight from the third edition rule book, and they will be selected in advance.
Entry is free, but space is limited. If there's an odd number of players, I will play with one of the two armies I have available. Most likely the Germans.
Prizes! There will be prizes, thanks to the generous support of Neutral Ground Games and Kevin Kwok thus far (Shaun I need that Panther! ). They include:
As you can see, the round robin and its prizes are not geared towards a win-loss record. I'm just asking you to play, and you might get something for playing.
Painted models are preferred but not required. Proxies should be easily identifiable as the model they're replacing.
We start atnoon 1230pm with a toast to the fallen, and then get right into it.
+++++
EDIT 2015-10-22
I'm going to push the start time to 1230pm to allow a little breathing room for some people to make it due to various Sunday obligations.
Your missions have been selected! Get familiar with them.
Round 1: Mobile Battle - Cauldron
Round 2: Defensive Battle - Pincer
Round 3: Fair Fight - Free For All
+++++
EDIT 2015-11-01
There's the graciously donated prize pool folks!
Just a couple of notes:
The unboxed sprues are actually more T34 tanks. One is built but both turret styles are available for it.
The late war German infantry box is missing a sprue. There's still a lot of infantry left there however!
Which boxes go for which prize category? Well, you'll have to play to find out!
+++++
Think that's it. I know there's a few people looking forward to this and I don't aim to disappoint!

- The Patton - Highest number of casualties inflicted.

- The Pink Panther - The player's choice award! Any other player may be nominated for this. Player with highest nominations wins the award.
As I am running this event, I am making myself ineligible for any and all prizes.
