I think after the esco, I realized that Nid's weren't really for me. They kind of seemed difficult to learn while trying to understand the game itself. So I've opted for a typical SM army to just learn the game. I want to do Blood Angels, but Gabriel Seth is really cool so: Flesh Tearers it is. Here is my first try at a list.
1500p. Flesh Tearers (Blood Angels) HQ - 260 Chapter Master Gabriel Seth (160)
Librarian (100) Shield of Sanguinius; The Blood Lance; power armor, force sword, bolt pistol.
Elites - 355 1 Sanguinary Priests (75) • Sanguinary Priest: bolt pistol; chainsword; jump pack.
6 Assault Terminators (280) Terminator Sergeant (thunder hammer; storm shield), 5 x lightning claw.
Troops - 675 10 Assault Marines (225) Space Marine Sergeant (power fist); 1 x meltagun; jump packs.
10 Assault Marines (225) Space Marine Sergeant (power fist); 1 x meltagun; jump packs.
7 Death Company (225) 2× power weapon, 5 chainswords. • Rhino: dozer blade.
Heavy Support - 200 Stormraven Gunship (200)
Gabriel would go with the DC in the Rhino, and the terminator squad would be carried in the Stormraven.

If you can free the points, I definitely think you should add another priest.
Also, drop the powerfists and go for power swords IMO. You'll just die in challenges otherwise.
Death Company: Since they are in a rhino AND relentless, I say go for Bolters. It's on Death Company you put your fists or axes. You can't be challenged out afterall since you don't have a unit champ. Maybe a jump pack for the libby to keep up with the assault marines?
