Page 76 of the Nid codex at the bottom there is this bad ass Carnifex, and it's pretty similar to the scheme that I want to try eventually. Could someone help me with techniques to achieve the skin tones? I don't know what wash I could use.. The carapace is kind of self explanatory.

A quick reply would be to block out the areas with the corresponding colour (white/black) then wash or dry brush....white areas i would wash with a sepia tone then highlight with a bleached bone. Black areas prob dry brush grey, wash badab black then highlight with a grey on the edges. Just keep in mind this is a quick idea and the colours i am suggesting are the old names.

i think and don't quote me on this. pics a little grainy, but that could be one of the schemes that use a uses a watered down purple wash over bleached bone

Yeah, it really doesn't look purple to me. I think the wash if anything is like sepia or maybe carroburg. Could even be darker.

Looks like black with two shades of grey for the lines, then glazed very lightly with a dark grey

Oh, I thought he meant the chitin. Blindness setting in.
Odds are the recesses were painting pink then painted white over top.
Also, fexes are so bad ass looking.
