Worked out really well, some gaps at the corners mostly cause i have no straight anything or power tools but it can all be gap filled.
Cost about 25 bux in total materials.
No i am not gonna magnetize it and hopefully i'll get it textured and painted before wednesday.

Are these display boards fairly common for tournies?

You can use anything from a tv tray to a food tray but alot of people make a display base to make the armies look cooler and easier to transport around.

Makes sense! I was just worried I might be penalized if I didn't bring one. Do you know how long it would take to make a swamp one?!

About 2 hours + however long it takes ya to texture and swamp it.

It would take a day per 1/8 of an inch for the water to settle. Definitely would be a week process or so for something that size.

I would think it might be possible to do the board, put the water effects on like normal, then cut all the holes for the bases after. Sort of like making a piece of terrain first then modifying it after.

You can't put the water effects onto styrofoam though.
I may make one, just paint it green though and put my guys into it. I am worried about the foam core disintegrating once you paint it though.
